Wind Farm Development and Operation

THE BOTTOM LINE

Landowners e.g. Individuals or Community Co-operatives, in return for leasing land to the Wind Farm Developer, can expect to receive approximately three - five percent of the gross annual earnings of the fully operational wind farm.

In the case of a one hundred mega watt wind farm, this could amount to possible Landowner earnings of approximately £450,000.00 to £750,000.00 per annum.

Wind energy production utilises only the land on which the wind turbines, ancillary equipment, buildings, structures and access routes are constructed, the remainder of land (80% - 90%) in area can remain in its natural state.

Landowners, other than granting the wind farm developer in this case MAKWind Ltd. a leasehold agreement for a period of not less than twenty five years, is not required to participate or be in any way involved in the wind farm development, financially or otherwise.
